There are other alternatives. The M3 Real had a GBA expansion, which was a 32mb expansion which also worked as a ram expansion for the browser. It would load games from the Slot1 device onto the slot 2 device. There are also Slot 2 flash carts that load nds games through a passkey. But those are crap by todays standards.
